Welcome Soldier! Here is your opportunity to sound off about your experience in World War I. Click your class on the left and find your name. Then you can start building your own blog about your experience in World War I.

  • Type your articles in Word and save them to your H: drive or home computer. Then upload them to your blog.
  • Plagiarism from the web or from other student's pages will result in zero credit and a detention.

"Basic Plan" Content (Required Articles)

Week 1 - Dec. 8th
1. Write an article discussing why your nation is involved in World War I.
2. Write an article reacting to the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria - Hungary.
Week 2 - Dec. 15th
3. Discuss the battle plan for your nation, detailing the weapons and tactics you can use to win the war.
4. Choose a propanganda poster either from or aimed at your nation. Discuss its goal and the propaganda techniques it uses.
5. Write an article discussing how Russia's exit and the USA's entry into the war affect your nation's chance of winning.
Week 3 - XMas Break
    • Expand on or finish any articles so far.
Week 4 - Jan. 5th
6. Write an article discussing your nation's reaction to the terms of the Treaty of Versailles.

Additional Content

Week 1 - Dec. 8th
- Personalize your page with flags, pictures, or symbols representing your nation and/or your branch of the armed forces.
- Talk some smack to your rival nations. Be original, use pictures, songs, rhymes, etc.
Week 2 - Dec. 15th
- Blog! Blog! Blog! Talk about your daily experiences living through the fighting of World War I.
- Link some cool World War I sites and provide a short review of what you can do or learn there.
- Write poems, songs, raps, etc. that capture the emotion of your experience fighting in World War I.
Week 3 - XMas Break
- Report on how soldiers from your nation spent Christmas during the war.
Week 4 - Jan. 5th
- Additionally, discuss your personal feelings as to what it was like to return home. Report on the overall feeling of morale for your town, as well as, how well you were received back into "normal" life.
